Bring in the Clowns!

writing-update

This website probably feels as though I’ve absolutely abandoned it. No, I’m still here. I haven’t been updating as much because I’ve been busy, busy, busy. I’ve been busy working on my mental health, which I discussed here on my blog.

#ProjectWriteTube:

I’ve been working to get together a group of 12 writers, who want to encourage other writers (including you dear reader) to join the craziness that is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMO). NaNoWriMo is a challenge to get you to write 50 k words in 30 days in the month of a November. This collab is called #ProjectWriteTube. This is the second year that I’ve done this and it keeps getting better.

Click here to watch the video where I go into more detail. There is a rap battle between myself and my negative self-talk. This was so much fun to edit and I hope you’ll get a giggle out of it.

There’s been so much ridiculousness on our media recently and the one that has struck me the most has been the rash of clowns spotted in the US, UK, and I think Australia.

Why? *sigh*

It’s absurd, but I seem to gravitate toward the absurd. So, that brings us to Week 1 #ProjectWriteTube’s costume choice. A clown:

Horror Anthology Update:

In relation to the horror anthology, things have been moving a bit slower than I would like. It’s called The Appalachian Terror Trail. I absolutely love the title and I hope you do as well. Pretty soon there will be a cover reveal, which I’m incredibly excited to share with you! (Note: If you have any questions about your short story for the anthology, please send me an email at penpaperpad78@gmail.com instead of leaving comments on posts. Thanks!)

Quarterly Writing Goals Update

This Wednesday, October 12th, I’ll be broadcasting live on my YouTube channel with Amy Tasukada. We’ll be discussing our writerly goals from the 2nd quarter, what we achieved, what we failed at doing and our goals for the 4th quarter. Join us! It’s more fun when there’s folks in the chat.

#VirtualFantasyCon:

I’m doing #VirtualFantasyCon this year! (What is this, Tamara?)

It’s a week long event where people are able to virtually visit different booths based on different themes like sci-fi, fantasy, etc. My day is Saturday, which is Horror, absolutely apropo for the Appalachian Terror Trails. There’s going to be a lot going on this week, so you should check it out! You can visit my virtual booth on Saturday here.

Blood Roses Trilogy:

One other thing I want to add before I go, I’m going back into the editing and writing of the Blood Roses trilogy. If you haven’t heard much about that yet, don’t worry, I’m going to be making videos and posts about it in upcoming months. To give you the briefest of spoiler-free summary about this trilogy:

Blood Roses and Honeysuckles is about three women and how their lives are intertwined. It’s a dark women’s lit book with a hint of a thriller. It’s set in a fictitious town called Tiltonsville, WV and the idea is that small towns are not always what they seem.

Within these books, there will be a pivotal place that needs a name. I’m going to be hosting a contest on my Facebook page in regards to that place. Follow me on Facebook where you can learn more.

That’s it for this writerly update. Let me know in the comments below how are you doing? Is any of this of interest to you? Do clowns freak you out?
